New Year New You - Echo vs Lambo

This weekend CFWH hosted the Whole9, and we discussed so many amazing ways to inspire people to eat healthy. In my opinion anyone who walks into the gym is already on the right track to becoming a healthier person and obviously cares about their health. As a Crossfit community and gym we care about each other and know that even though sometimes fellow crossfitters may act like they don't care about nutrition, or think they can eat whatever they want and it doesn't affect them, I know better. I know most people don't want to have stomach issues, high blood pressure, or heart trouble now or 30 years down the road. Whether you know it or not at one point in your life you may realize that you are not as skinny, as flexible, as strong, or energetic as you once remember. So why not make life easy on yourself? Start NOW by doing the #1 MOST IMPORTANT thing for your long term health and eat right. It is really very easy, eat fruits, vegetables, lean meats, nuts and seeds, little starch, and nothing processed. Yes, grains are processed! This is about as simple as we can get.

Think about a high performance sports car, you would not put regular unleaded fuel in a Lamborghini, you would put premium. Your body is the same, are you a Toyota Echo or a Lamborghini?

So that being said, go home and clean out your fridge and pantry. Get rid of any negative foods that are going to prevent you from being a "Lamborghini".
Negative Foods: anything processed, dairy, grains, starches (potatoes/corn etc.), sugar

Next, go to the grocery store and stock up on positive foods that are going to make you healthier, I have a list shown below of my typical grocery list.

Don't forget, always stay around the stores perimeter!!
