Eating Paleo in Houston

Eric and I were so burned out a tired of having the same dishes over and over again. I love to cook, however I definitely got into a rut of making our easy go to dishes that are convenient, fast and easy. Lately, we have been working so much that our groceries have been going bad before we have a chance to cook them. Our lifesavers have been Perfect Fit Meals and My Fit Foods. It is sad for me to say, but we have been eating their dishes so often we were so tired of them. Thanks to ya'll we have branched out recently and have found a few new favorites!

Awhile back I posted on my Facebook wall asking for people to suggest their favorite Paleo friendly places in Houston. We have been super adventurous lately and have spoiled our taste buds with some of the below tasty treats!

Here are a few:
Bayou City Seafood - Grilled shrimp and steamed veggies

Thai Gourmet - chicken curry and steamed veggies

Georgia's buffet- Omelet bar, apricot chicken, grassfed beef meat loaf, salad bar

HEB - orange plate special, extra chicken breast

Ziggy's Bar and Grill - Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Veggies du Jour

Zoe's Kitchen - Shrimp Kabobs - no pilaf, ask for extra veggies

Pei Wei - Spicy Shrimp Salad (gluten free version, hold the rice sticks

- Thai Coconut Curry - no rice

- Steamed broccoli with chicken or beef - with a little spicy mustard (this is my favorite!)

Thai Cottage - Shrimp on the Grill or Tiger Cry - no rice ask for extra veggies
The Egg and I – Steak & Eggs with a side of fruit, hold the toast and potatoes

Kim Son Cafe - they have a few sushi rolls that are rice free, I have only tried one, but all look yummy! Be very careful here, many of their dishes contain MSG!

PLEASE if you have any other recommendations post them here!!!

  2. Hey Tricia!

You should try Skeeters in Town and Country. They have a good fajita and veggie plate that is good with a side of guacamole.

I also had a burger craving recently and ordered a plate at Becks Prime that was really good. I believe it was called the Kitchen Sink, and I ordered the half order with no cheese, and it was quite awesome!

  3. I like Escalantes for Carne Asada steak with fabulous grilled veggies and fresh guacamole made table side so you know what is in it. Gives me the taste of Mex without the tortilla or cheese.
